  • Barriers to communicating effectively and solutions to overcome them:
    • models of the communication act
    • difficulties stemming from external conditions and from interpretation
    • difficulties stemming from different values and objectives
    • difficulties linked to the sender and the receiver.
  • How to become a better communicator:
    • preparing oneself
    • establishing a rapport with the interlocutor
    • listening
    • helping the interlocutor express his point of view
    • arriving at an agreement
    • following-up the discussion.
  • How to become a better communicator by using and decoding para-verbal language:
    • voice
    • gestures.
