    • call the absent employee
    • schedule a meeting with the employee upon return:
      • preparing the necessary statistics
      • establishing contact
      • going over the facts
      • looking for the reasons
      • using the techniques for conducting meetings
      • adapting your responses to the reason given
      • reacting to employee's defense mechanisms
      • ending the meeting
    • monitor the employee's attendance.
