ORGANIZING PRESENTATIONS AND MEETINGS

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Executives and employees who give presentations or conduct meetings, either on a general basis or within the context of specific projects.

OBJECTIVES
Improve the quality and effectiveness of meetings and presentations.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

  • Preparing the presentation/meeting
    • analysis of the aims of the presentation/meeting: inform, convince, motivate, train
    • how to structure the presentation/meeting with respect to its aims
    • how to adapt the presentation/meeting to the audience:
      • number of participants
      • hierarchical level
      • motivations
    • when to give and when not to give the presentation/meeting
    • material preparation: flip chart, overhead projector, videotape, slides, video
    • conference, électronic transparencies, etc.
    • psychological preparation: turning stress to advantage.
  • Turning the communication principles to advantage.
  • The presentation/meeting process:
      • establishing rapport
      • uncovering and adapting to audience expectations
      • managing group dynamics
      • responding to questions and objections
      • improvising thanks to the S.O.S system
    • concluding the presentation/meeting
    • following-up.

TEACHING METHOD

  • Group discussions.
  • Communication games.
  • Videotaping of individual simulations. Participants receive a copy of the videotapes.

DURATION
2 days for a group of 6
